Q. I am new at UZH/ETH/ZHAW. Where can I find prayer rooms?

 

The prayer locations are multifaith “Rooms of Silence”, which are open for personal prayer or silent meditation to all students and staff members of the academies. They can be found at the following locations:

Q. Where and when is the friday prayer held?

 

The Friday prayer takes place regularly at the UZH Main Building in room KOL-Q-2. The precise time will be announced in due time. During the semester break there is no friday prayer held at the University.

 

 

Q. Where can I find a list of mosques in Zurich?

 

On the webpage of VIOZ (Vereinigung der Islamischen Organisationen in Zürich) you find a list with mosques addresses in Zurich.

Q. I am soon coming to Zurich. Where can I meet other muslims?

 

Attend our events! The MSAZ organizes several religious, cultural and social activities, which are a good opportunity to get to know other Muslims in Zurich. You can find further Information about our upcoming events on our website and Facebook page.

 

 

Q. How can I become a member?

 

Join us! As a passive member you support us with a financial contribution and thus become a member of the association. You will receive notifications about all our upcoming events and benefit from a special reduced price at any of our events that charges an entrance fee.

 

As an active member, you enjoy the same benefits as passive members. Additionally,

  • you can suggest and implement your own idea or project!
  • you are entitled to vote at the general assembly.
  • you can run for a position on the MSAZ board.

 

 

Q. Can Non-Muslims also join MSAZ events?

 

Of course! Anyone is welcome to attend our events regardless of their ethnic background, their religious, ideological or philosophical beliefs.

 

 

Q. I have problems with my studies. / I want to offer my help in my field of study.

 

The MSAZ offers a mentoring-platform. If you are interested to partaking in such a platform as a mentor please fill out the form.

 

If you need help with your studies, just get in contact with us and we will arrange a mentor to help you!

 

 

Q. Can you help me to find accomodation in Zurich?

 

We can offer you to publish a post on our Facebook group. For that you have to

 

  1. enter our MSAZ facebook group.
  2. post an announcement (for example: searching a room in a women only shared apartment in and around Zurich) which we will share for you as soon as possible.

 

From time to time, announcements of available accommodation rooms are posted on our Facebook group, so check there regularly.
